Original calligraphy piece inspired by blacksmithing. I've recently started practicing simple blacksmithing at a local forge in downtown Portland, Oregon. As I was working on figuring out technique I realized that just bashing the metal gets you no where fast. Matter of fact it damages the metal. Instead one the the techniques for success is sticking the metal only while it is red hot.
